Our Story

In 2006, Reverend Doctor Howard, Pastor of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Lawton, brought the idea of organizing a Family Promise network in Lawton.

In 2010, Lawton became the second Family Promise affiliate in Oklahoma. The first was in Shawnee. Since that time we have gone from a rotational model where our guests spend a week at a time at a host congregation's church, to a static model where our guests are now able to stay in our homey and spacious facility. As we have changed, so has the need for a dedicatedon site staff of indivicuals focused on successful outcomes for all of our guests.
